31. Fire Me Up
Fire Me Up (Aisling Grey / Guardian Novel #2) by Katie MacAlister
Start: 5/27/08
Finish: 5/31/08
I really liked this one. It's interesting watching Aisling & Drake's relationship unfold. I can hardly wait to get the 3rd book (which has already been requested!).

29. The Third Circle
The Third Circle by Amanda Quick
Start: 5/23/08
Finish: 5/26/08
4th Arcane Society Novel
Thaddeus (hypnotist) & Leona (crystal worker).
Another quick and fun read by Krentz. I just adore this series. I think I prefer the Victorian era novels over the modern times, but overall . . . they're all fun to read.

Angels Fall (*Audio CD)
Angels Fall by Nora Roberts
Start: 5/14/08
Finish: 5/21/08
Reese & Brody
This was a wonderful story. I really enjoyed listening to this one. I love stories set in small towns. Through in some mountains and Wyoming, and it's just down right charming.
28. Prom Nights From Hell (Anthology)
Prom Nights From Hell
Meg Cabot - THE EXTERMINATOR'S DAUGHTER
This was very Buffy-like. I enjoyed this one.
Lauren Myracle - THE CORSAGE
This was very "Tales from the Crypt" like. Very predictible.
Kim Harrison - MADISON AVERY AND THE DIM REAPER
This was the longest story. The author pretty much set the characters up for future books. It was just ok.
Michele Jaffe - KISS AND TELL
I really liked this one. Teenaged girl with super-stenghts.
Stephenie Meyer - HELL ON EARTH
This is why I checked the book out. While it was pretty good, it was no where near "Twilight" good.

27. Twenty Wishes
Twenty Wishes by Debbie Macomber
Start: 5/15/08
Finish: 5/18/08
This is the 4th book in the Blossom Street Series. This one centers around a bookstore.
I really liked this book, but was a little disappointed that the bulk of the stories took place outside the bookstore that it was based in. I thought there would be more get-togethers in the bookstore. Several well-loved characters "showed up" in the book with very little interaction, but it was lovely to see how the various stores interact with each other. I especially liked Barbie. She was probably my favorite widow.

26. Lost Souls
Lost Souls by Lisa Jackson
Start: 5/4/08
Finish: 5/14/08
(Kristi & Jay)
This one took a while to finish for some reason.
This book featured Kristi Bentz. I really liked it, but I was able to figure out the "who dunnit" very early on in the book. Only because I'm very familiar with her writing style.
It was really interesting to read a book that was set in "Post-Katrina" New Orleans. It's the first book that I've had the opportunity to read that addresses some of the issues that area STILL faces.

Safe Harbor (*Audio CD)
Safe Harbor by Luanne Rice
Narrated by: Hope Davis
Start: 5/9/08
Finish: 5/14/08
I picked this up by accident at the library. I was looking at Nora Roberts books, and for some reason thought she had a book by this title (turns out it was Feehan I was thinking about).
When I uploaded the 1st cd onto iTunes, it pulled up Luanne Rice as the author. I went to change it (because iTunes sometimes pulls the wrong info), but glanced at the binder & noticed it was correct.
I decided to go ahead and give it a listen. It wasn't too bad. I'm not sure I'm going to rush out and pick up more of her books, but I'd probably listen/read her again if something caught my eye.

25. A Girl's Guide to Vampires
A Girl's Guide To Vampires (Dark Ones #1) by Katie MacAlister
Start: 5/9/08
Finish: 5/11/08
Joy & Raphael . . . I really enjoyed their story. Not quite as funny as some of her books I've read, but this was totally worth reading.

At Risk (*Audio CD)
At Risk by Patricia Cornwell
Start: 5/7/08
Finish: 5/9/08
Not quite as good as the Scarpetta books, but definitely a nice diversion from the usual cast of characters.
Now to find At Risk 2.

The Plot Thickens (Anthology)
How Far it Could Go by Lawrence Block
Foolproof by Edna Buchanan
The Man Next Door by Mary Higgins Clark
The Last Peep by Janet Evanovich
I only requested this for Janet Evanovich's story. I read a few others, but really didn't devote a lot of time on this book. The short stories I read were okay, but at less than 40 pages each . . . well, I just didn't get into this book.

Book of the Dead (*Audio CD)
Book of the Dead by Patrica Cornwell
Start: 4/28/08
Finish: 5/7/08
15th Book in the Kay Scarpetta Series
I was pretty disappointed with this one. The main plot point was not all that interesting, as it was pretty easy to see where everyone fit and what the outcome was going to be. The major characters are in a pretty dark place with not much light at the end of the tunnel right now. I really enjoyed this series up to Point of Origin. I keep hoping that the series heads back to that type of book, but so far they keep getting darker and more depressing to read.

24. The Mage's Daughter
The Mage's Daughter by Lynn Kurland
The sequel's out! But the library doesn't have it yet . . . WOO HOO . . . Polk County finally got a copy!
Start: 4/27/08
Finish: 5/2/08
Talk about a cliff hanger . . . and no clue as to when the final book comes out. Very good series so far.
